I love, love, love when my babies actually start smiling at me . . when I am actually positive it is not gas and they are actually smiling at me!
Little Sydnee was full of real smiles on Tuesday May 4, 2010!

visiting heaven?!

Last week while at Great Grandma D's house Tylee saw a picture of her grandpa Gene and Great Grandma D together. We have always told her about her grandpa and have always shown her pictures and told her that he died and is in heaven. This is how the conversation went after seeing the picture of Great Grandma and Grandpa Gene.

Tylee (picking up the picture and bringing it to us with a very puzzled look on her face) "Grandma what you doing in heaven visiting my grandpa?!" "I want to go visit my grandpa!"

Grandma D " Oh, Tylee I am not in heaven with Grandpa. . . that is before he died."

Tylee " Oh, you not in heaven visiting? You saw him before he died?"


I just wanted to write this down to remember it and remember how sweet little kids can be, also so Tylee can remember she has always been interested in her grandpa Gene and getting to know him and more about him. I wish she could really know him and I am so grateful I got to know Grandpa Gene so I can tell my kids about him. I am grateful that one day she will get to know her Grandpa and "visit" him.

2 weeks and 2 kids. . .

SO it's been a little over 2 weeks with 2 kids and I must say I am loving it! Things have gone better than I expected! Tylee has been great with her baby sister and is a huge help!! She loves to help change diapers, feed, bathe, and anything else that involves her baby sister! SHe enjoys singing to Sydnee and telling her stories, she even shares her toys with Sydnee. . .
I don't know how we are so lucky to have two great babies, Tylee was a great baby and Sydnee never cries, she sleeps 3-4 hours a night and is a great eater. Hopefully this does not mean we will get it all back in teenage years.
Sydnee is doing great and already growing! She has her 2 week check-up on Monday so I will let you know her stats then.
Really we are loving being parents and having our 2 little girls! Ty is a great dad and a huge help! I am so grateful to have such an amazing husband!
I also want to thank you to all of our friends and family that have brought dinners in, it was a huge help to not have to make dinner!

Sydnee Elizabeth Dickamore

Sydnee's story

I was scheduled to be induced at 8 a.m. on Friday March 26th, however at 6 a.m. they called and said they were super busy and to come in at 11 a.m.
By the time I got checked in and situated it was 12:45, the Dr. came in and broke my water then at 1:00 p.m. they started the pitocin.
After that it all went fairly fast! Sydnee Elizabeth was born at 5:05 p.m. and was BEAUTIFUL!!! She weighed in at 6 lbs 10 oz and was 19 inches long. Tyler did great with everything and is such an amazing daddy!
Tylee got to come to the hospital to meet her sister and fell in love with her. I was actualy quite surprised with how well she did with her and how soft she is with her. Tylee got to watch Sydnee get her first bath and when Sydnee started to cry Tylee sang her "Twinkle Twinkle" and would say "it's okay sister, It's okay"
She is so sweet everytime Sydnee fusses or cries she is right there patting her head, giving her kisses, or singing her a song! Such a great big sister!
I feel so blessed to have such a great little family and 2 healthy girls!
Thank you to everyone for the love and support and for offering to help or helping with Tylee!

Fun

Today was sunny. . . COLD but sunny. So I told Tylee when she woke up from her nap we would bundle up and go play at the "new" park down the street from us! She was so excited and to be honest so was I finally some sunshine and running around!
We got to the park and she was "SUPER EXCITED" to see swings! We played on the swings and her favorite was when I would give her under dogs, she would just laugh and laugh! Then to my surprise she wanted to go on the slides. . . BY HERSELF!!! These slides are huge and I was a bit hesitant to let her, but decided she would be okay! She loved it and it made me a little sad seeing how much she has grown up! Last year she always wanted to sit on my lap to go down them and this year she didn't even want my help on the stairs!
She is growing up to fast!
I had my 35 week check today and Sydnee looks great! He says she is measuring 5 1/2 lb, which is crazy because when I had Tylee she was 5lbs 11oz!
We got some 4-D ultra sounds. . . my kids never cooperate for these so they are a bit scary looking, but you can see the chubby cheeks on Sydnee and they are so cute!
Tylee is getting very anxious and excited for "Baby Syd" she keeps telling me "it takes forever!" Which I could not agree with her more at this point!
However we are grateful for an amazingly easier and un-eventful pregnancy this go round!
All in all things are good here and we are excited to be welcoming Sydnee to our family soon!

33 weeks

Here is a pregnant picture for all of you that have been asking. 33 weeks in all my hugeness, don't mind the chubby face I always get it when I am pregnant!

Cooking

Tylee loves to cook! She loves to help e cook and she loves to pretend cook! She usually helps me make lunch and dinner. . . which at times is quite frustrating, but I try to be patient.
Last night she wanted to make cookies so we made chocolate chip cookies. She always gets to help put ingredients in and stir, but never gets to use the mixer, well last night we decided she was big enough to do it all by herself! She did such a great job and though it was the coolest thing ever!
It was so cute to see how proud of herself she was, but made me a little sad because it seems like she grew up so fast!! She will be 3 in August and I don;t know where all the time went!!
Tylee is also potty trained now(has been since mid January) and does such a great job!! Tylee bear you are growing up so fast and I am so proud of you and all the things you accomplish!

My funny 2 year old. . .

So Tylee has been so obsessed with Harry Potter lately. . .
this is how our conversation went

Tylee: Look at my legs mom
Mom: Ohhh you are getting HAIRY legs
Tylee: Ya!!!! I have HARRY legs. . . . Ron Feet, and Herminey Hands. . .
Mom: Dying of laughter

Conversation #2

Tylee: Mom, Ron is my Boyfriend.. .
Mom: NO WAY!! You are to young to have a boyfriend! :)
Tylee: No I a big girl I poop in potty now!

I am so grateful for my little Tylee bear and for all the smiles and laughter she brings to our home! She gets a little funnier everyday! I seriously Can't imagine life without her! Thanks for always making me smile Tylee bear! We love you so much!!!

Christmas. . . a bit late

We had an amazing Christmas with friends and family! We especially LOVED being in our own home!

House Disclaimer

SO there are parts of the house missing in pictures like a bathroom and mud room and the basement, but really they are still a work in progress. . . along with the rest of the house! At some point I will finish decorating. Hopefully before baby Sydnee comes. . . If you have any great decorating idea or great IN EXPENSIVE places to shop for home decor please do share!!! I need all the help I can get!!

The house. . .

HAS CARPET!!!!!!!!!!!!! We are so excited and are keeping our fingers crossed to close on Tuesday!!!!!!!

Roller skates

for my work we got to go to Classic Skating and Tylee had a blast!
She is getting s big, she could climb up all the blow up ladders all by herself and she even want to try roller skating!!! As I sat there and watched her doing all of this "big" girl things I got a little sad and wondered where all the time has gone! Don't get me wrong I was so excited to see her do these things, but she is not a baby anymore!
Tylee has definately got her own personality! Here are a few of the things she says and is doing.
Lately she calls everyon her best friend (including Santa who she was scared of)
When she wakes up in the morning she comes into our room and says "I wake up" "good morning sunshine"
She ALWAYS wants to help especially when it comes to cooking or loading/unloading the dishwasher.
She says the snow is "so sparkly"
She can count to 10 all by herself and can say almost all her ABC's (we are still working on those)
She knows her shapes and colors
She tells us "I love you so so much"
She gets frustrated that I won't take the baby out and let her hold her (If only I could :)
She is so excited to be a big sister and will be amazing at it
She always calls her dad and says "come home I really really sad, I miss you"
She is always giving hugs and kisses (which we can't get enough of!
I could go on for days and days about her but really we are just so proud of her and how smart and sweet she is! We are so grateful to have her!
